Carson Downey Band The

Singing Detective, The (Widescreen)

Singing Detective, The (Widescreen)
Oscar nominee Robert Downey Jr. "gives the performance of his career" in this acclaimed, all-star movie that weaves sly comedy, suspenseful film noir and spirited musical numbers into one of the most original productions in years. When it comes to murder, seduction and betrayal, pulp-fiction author Dan Dark (Downey) wrote the book. But now, he's living it. Languishing in a hospital room with an immobilizing condition, Dark has immersed himself in the fictional world of his alter ego, a hardboiled detective and dance-band singer living in 1950s Los Angeles. As Dark's grasp on reality continues to slip, he's placed under the care of an enigmatic psychiatrist (Oscar winner Mel Gibson). Together, they plunge into the mystery of Dark's psyche, where everyone is suspect and danger waits at every turn.

The Story of AFI
The Story of AFI
A Fire Inside may have released their first chart-topping major label album Sing the Sorrow in 2003, but the Bay Area band's fire began its slow burn over a decade ago. Years of near constant touring have garnered the band a reputation for passionately powerful live shows, and through pure word of mouth they have built an intensely devoted worldwide fan base. Lead singer Davey Havok, guitarist Jade Puget, drummer Adam Carson, and bass player Hunter have crafted a sound so distinctive it defies the punk/goth/hardcore labels thrown its way. To further keep us guessing, AFI's music is continually evolving, surprising even its most loyal followers. Here is the full story behind AFI's hard-won success from humble high school beginnings to unimagined heights six albums later as the fire burns brighter than ever.
